Time
& tide wait for none, the
maxim goes.
A
moment fleeting, never comes back, let’s use our full strength to extract/reap
the best, we can as ‘Life’ every step is a challenge and one
has to face it or accept it. No one knows what is next.
History
is packed with countless instances when one confronted with fears, worries, and
some unforgettable moments that one wants to cherish forever in the core of
one’s heart.
‘Past is ashes,
Future is wet fuel,
And Present?’
I think, depends on one’s perspective, isn’t
it? The authenticity of maxims has got to be questionable in today’s
context. It is not something to be surprised or regretted if a bright idea that
is 100% guaranteed to reap incredible advantage today, gets stale tomorrow as
Wealth lost, nothing lost
Time lost, something lost,
Health lost; everything is lost.
The Mahabharata, in Hindu mythology, is the best instance of violence and life-loss of innumerable people, merely because of a few human frivolities or momentary impulsive outcomes so what? One should shun or shirk from some unavoidable circumstances. In other words- isn’t it- Escapism? and I think, Escapism is an attribute of a coward, it may lead to nothing but repentance or regrets.
Therefore, it’s a matter of one’s
self-evaluation or introspection that one goes for misery or mirth, the latter
one is undoubtedly easier, but the gravity of the moment lost or some other
loss is considerable, so a fair equilibrium between fair and unfair is a must
to get the best results or peace of mind or a healthy mindset.
As the saying goes-
‘Mind in its own place can make a heaven of
hell,
A hell of heaven.’ -John Milton
Autobiographies of eminent personalities are also another category of history or a consistent source of learning, and to speed up the pace of success.
Waiting needs lots of patience and patience is very scary to find. In the beginning, it is mentioned Time is precious and it must be spent or saved with great care but who cares.
These careless pursuits and actions need particular attention to be paid skillfully one deals with them, sooner or later, all must bear the consequences of unfair or fair pursuits as the saying goes-
‘As you sow, so shall you reap.’
Life is not poetry in motion, there are thorns and roses and it’s not a matter of choice but destiny, what is allotted to an individual, he/she has to go for it.
History according to the logical point of view is illogical as its nothing, but bare cramming of dates and events, it doesn’t mean that it should be ignored. Every coin has two positive and positive imparts valuable information on lifestyle and trends of ancient times that can be utilized to execute some great tasks leading to the peaks of heights.
‘The history of the past is a mere puppet show. A little man comes out and blows a little trumpet and goes in again. You look for something new; and log; another little man comes out and blows another trumpet and goes in again.
-A. W. Longfellow
So, what? what is stated already, is that history, according to the majority, is dull-no emotions, no logic, no interest- merely mugging up events.
To wind up, history-mere elaboration or narration of a series of absurd or violent acts of vengeance or evolution leading to nothing, but knowledge of the past, if perceived with an academic/practical point of view to achieve fair decisions or tread on the right path, to some extent.
The present is in hands and must be and ought to be utilized in the best manner.
As in the words of Marcus Antonius- ‘Every man’s life lies within the present; for the past spent and done with, and the future is uncertain.’
